Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 17 Jan

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 17 Jan: As EURCHF reversed direction yesterday, our trade was taken out at its new tighter stop, for a loss.

This morning we have one new opportunity signalled. It’s worth noting on this trade that, although the signal candle is below the 40MA, the current price is above the moving average, which is enough to validate this …

USDCHF – buy

  • I am now trading with an additional filter introduced Jan 2019.
  • I am opening two trades for each signal according to the Combined Profits method, one for each profit target. My staking is based on a 2% risk of a £20k trading pot, so I’m risking £200 per trade – £400 across both trades.

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 15 Jan

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 15 Jan: Having secured a first profit of £100 yesterday on EURGBP, I’m going to close out the remaining half of the trade this morning for a further profit of £60. As I mentioned yesterday, it’s only in rare circumstances that I’ll opt out of a trade due to external factors, but I feel it’s prudent to steer clear of GBP today (unless you fancy a punt on how it’ll react to today’s vote!)

We have one new opportunity signalled today:

EURCHF – sell

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 14 Jan

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 14 Jan: My EURGBP trade was stopped out on Friday for a loss, and this morning I close out USDCAD on a change of colour for a small loss.

Just one new opportunity signalled today, sees us back into EURGBP. You may take the view that this is a market you’d like to steer clear of this week. We’re likely to see further volatility over tomorrow’s vote in the House of Commons. It’s not often that I’ll let fundamentals overrule my trading signals, but I’ve decided that I’ll open this today, but will close out of this market tomorrow morning.

EURGBP – sell

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 10 Jan

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 10 Jan: First £100 profits secured for USDCHF and EURCHF, and this morning we close out the remaining part of EURCHF, just the wrong side of breakeven, as it has already moved through its new stop level.

One new opportunity signalled for today:

EURGBP – buy

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 8 Jan

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 8 Jan: A couple of non signals this morning, as our new filter reduces the number of positions we’re entering. However, we have our first two trades of the new year signalled today:

USDCAD – sell
USDCHF – sell

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 7 Jan

Heikin Ashi Mountain Update 7 Jan: Good morning. I hope you’re ready to pick up our Heikin Ashi Mountain trading and have been able to take a look at the new filter we’re using. If you’ve not yet seen the first stage of the reboot, you can download the information here.

Essentially, we won’t be taking any sell trades unless the price is below the 40SMA, and no buy trades unless the price is above the 40SMA.

This morning, this makes quite a difference to our signals. For example, on USDCAD, there’s no sell signal as the price remains above the 40SMA.

The result is that there are no signals for today, but don’t worry – this is just filtering out the weaker trades, and there will be opportunities along soon.

Regards

Mark
